The path ahead leads to a line of trees, there might be houses on the horizon. If there are houses, there are people, people who can help me. For all that it hurts to walk, or breathe, my best bet is to press on.

That looks like a sliver of civilization in the distance. I can't get to it through the fences and prickly hedges, but I'll take it for a good omen.
